Process for Part two of the “Pushing boundaries” Diptych (Feb 2012)

Erasing part of the former etched lines:

The new etched plate has more tone on the figure and background:

Applying hard ground on the figure in order to protect from aquatint solution:

Aquatint spray application (for background tone):

Ink application for printing:

Hard ground solution (protects desired parts to not be etched by the ferric chloride bath)

After etcing the aquatint this is the background effect:

Clean hard ground with solvent ( exposing etched surface )
